Russia’s poultry exports to China may exceed $100 mln in 2019

MOSCOW, Sep 9 (PRIME) -- Russia’s poultry exports to China may exceed U.S. $100 million in 2019, the Agriculture Ministry said in a statement on Monday following a meeting chaired by deputy ministers Maxim Uvaidov and Oksana Lut.

“The ministry’s estimates say that exports of this type of products to China will exceed $100 million this year…As was noted during the meeting China is one of the most promising export markets for Russia,” the ministry said.

Russia sent its first batch of poultry to China in February. Exports amounted to 54 tonnes that month, and skyrocketed to more than 7,500 tonnes in August. In total, Russia has already exported 18,700 tonnes of poultry to China worth $41 million this year, the ministry said.
